Custom Peck Penetrator Bags March 29, 2007

Longtime surfer/shaper and all around hippster/trippster, John Peck, has been a DSURF Team Rider for quite some time. 5 years ago we started making custom travel bags for his Peck Penetrator boards. With each board someone orders they get 3 different fins with a custom fin case, a custom single travel bag, and two 9' knee cuff leashes.
Penetrator bags on the production line.

John embodies the Aloha vibe, so in his own words, "Happy hollow ones to you."

If you are crazy enough to want to travel with a couple standup paddle boards, we will build it for you.
This thing is so big it was hard to get the entire bag in one frame

Not sure if the airline will even let you check a 12'4" coffin.

A 7'2" Craig gun inside for scale.

An original Ocean Pacific longboard for scale. Shaped by the man who started DSURF, John Smith.

DSURF Team Rider Eli Mirandon March 20, 2007

Eli just got back from a R&D trip to Melanesia where he scored some great surf abord the Exocoetus with Capt Andrew Rigby. Eli sent the photo along with a recap of the trip.
our exporation of melanesia was quite a success! thanks to everyone for the support. shane peel, the photographer and videographer was really stoked on the photos and footage and our many waves we stumbled upon.
we set off from papua new guinea and toured many islands aboard the exocoetus with our captain andrew "undies" rigby and his wife jude. as well as peely, dean brady, and andrew mooney, both aussie surfers. the boat was perfectly suited with our own air conditioned cabin, a covered area for our boards and a big panga with strong motors. we covered heaps of area in the panga exploring for breaks while the "exo" sat in some perfectly still anchorages with stunning views and great fishing. jude took care of everything onboard from cooking to organizing everything everyday so when we were done surfing we were resting well and eating well and ready to go at it another day.
the trip was truly amazing ... we surfed heaps of new waves and marked tons of spots that would be on a different swell direction or wind or too big or too small. a lot of " what if" spots out there to go back for more. the water was super warm and the air temp was nice. our trip had two nice north swells and we scored a couple new breaks and one previously surfed. the islands we visited were unreal.... children who had never seen white people lined up to touch you and shake your hand and when we surfed the locals would slowly come to the beach until there were 20 -50 people cheering and screaming hysterically on the shore. they were all so happy and amazed at what we were doing, surfing waves. it was really cool to see that and experience it first hand.
overall the trip was a huge success and was more fun than i could have imagined.everyone was ripping and peely got the job done. a truly unique experience in a land of welcoming people... what more could you ask for ... once again thanks to all involved ... talk to you all soon ...eli

DSURF Team Rider Coco Nogales March 16, 2007

Coco charges pretty damn hard. He was just in Hawaii for a tow contest and is headed to Chile for another tow contest. He is helping to organize the contest for Puerto.
He stopped by to see Aaron and pick up some new travel gear. He picked up a 6'6" no wheel coffin for his tow boards, a 7'0" wheelie and a pile of big wave leashes.

Bring it

Did I mention he has balls the size of coconuts.

Burn One Down March 15, 2007

Looks like some boys down in Ensenada burned a little more down than they meant to.
This fire took place at 3pm on Saturday, March 10th at the Ensenada Harbor. The boat was completely engulfed in flames in a matter of minutes and was impossible to put out with the available fire fighting equipment on the scene at the dock. Within approximately 15 minutes two fire trucks came down the Malecon and extinguished the fire with water from the truck's fire pumps. The boat has been declared a total loss by the owner's insurance officials.

OBX March 8, 2007

While the west coast falls into the slump of the transition from a lackluster winter to summer south swells, the east coast has produced some solid swells for the Outer Banks and north.

DSURF Team rider Raven Lundy scored some heaving barrels on Pea Island in NC. Photgrapher Mickey McCarthy was there to document all the action. Check out the full story at Surfer Magazine. Click here for the photo gallery of all the other OBX rippers.
